Steam hammer has been a common problem on the HX5 drain lines in all eight units at Bruce Power in Ontario, Canada, caused by an inverted loop in the saturated drains that allowed liquid to collect and inadequate heater level control. Chalwyn air shut off valves and exhaust spark arrestors have been fitted on the maintenance vehicles working at the Milford Haven South Hook LNG terminal.
